NOTE TO GP PRACTICES RE SMOKERS WITH COPD
One third of COPD patients continue to smoke. Smokefree Bristol and Bristol Community COPD are working together to provide more intensive support by way of specialist groups. Here's how it works:
(i) Smokefree Bristol provides template letter detailing everything about the group
(ii) GP practice uses template to run a mail merge to capture all registered COPD patients who smoke
(iii) Letters are collected from GP practice, put in envelopes and mailed to patients
(iv) Smokefree Bristol handles all booking arrangements, patient enquiries and runs the group
